This is a small clip which i made playing the original video on my laptop and recording it on my cell phone. There is a noise machine on and a voice distortion tool being used and foreground dialog as well. It's the whispered dialog that is crucial in my quest for justice. One of a series of heavily processed recordings i made using a hikari monos cv. It's a small, highly tweakable synthesizer that's great for drones, resonant pings, and all manner of dynamic electronic sounds. Using s-layer, the sample-mangling plugin from twisted tools, i focused on generating short, punchy impulses that leaned into the resonant character of the original monos recordings. These sounds might be useful for ui buttons, as well as designing modern-retro sounds for games.

This is about 2 minutes total. It is of an approaching long freight train passing about 100 yards away in it's entirety. Train was doing around 45 mph. There are no other background sounds, no traffic, no crossing alarms, no street noise, no airplanes, no people, etc. There are three diesel electric locomotives in the front, then about a mile of freight cars, then one diesel electric locomotive "pushing" from the rear (it almost sounds like a jet engine!). Recorded alongside the tracks in open west texas desert! recorded using a panasonic dvx200 with a rode shotgun mic & deadcat. Audio extracted from the video file.

A pair of owls stationed themselves outside my half-basement bedroom window in colorado early this morning around 12am. Unfortunately i only had my phone to capture them with, but it still turned out alright, save for the periodic vox-like breaks when silencing background noise. The hoot is obvious as to the source, but i'm unsure about the screech/cry that occurs with equal frequency. Is it the response of a mate? or just the yip of a curious neighbor dog?. Recorded with the stock application on my lg g3 phone and encoded to mp3 using the "video to mp3" app.

Recorded on february 9, 2001 in an old appartment complex lobby on the 2nd floor. We held a fundraiser for a local charity and it included a place for people to get together, play board games and an n64 was set up. Bird singing recorded at around 3:40 am with yinger bm 800 ldc-microphone in front of my open window, i had to add some noise reduction because of my computer fan with reafir (there isn't really much of that noise left, atleast if compared to original). You can also maybe hear ocassional space bar-click sound maybe twice, but it's still pretty useable clip in my opinion, i recorded this just to test my new microphone, and because i couldn't sleep because of the loud birds singing, and in revenge i recorded that with my shiny new yinger bm800.
